Ingredients
- Whole wheat - 3 1/4 cups (or gluten-free flour, see author's note)
- Baking powder - 5 teaspoons
- Sea salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Water - 2 cups
- Olive oil - 1/4 cup
- Seeds: poppy and sesame seeds (optional)
Directions
- Mix together the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and salt)
- Add water
- Add seeds
- Knead until a smooth dough but don't knead too much... The bread
dough should just not be too sticky. On a humid day, more flour may be
required
- Form into about 8 small buns and place on greased pan for baking.
You don't need to let it raise before baking, because this dough doesn't
contain yeast but baking powder
- Put in the oven and bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 45 minutes or until bread is light brown
- Plant your knife in one of them to be sure it is well baked
Author's note
A very good no yeast dough recipe. If you crave for bread, this
bread dough without yeast is a good alternative because it doesn't
contain sugar, yeast, or dairy. Nevertheless, wheat is not recommended
on a anti-candida diet. Whole wheat flower is better, but still not very
good because it still contains gluten. You could replace whole flour
wheat by a gluten free flour if you are doing a very strict anti-candida
diet, at least the 2 first weeks of your diet. Guten-free flour (like
rice, quinoa...) is usually heavier, but it is still a better
alternative for bread.
